The team spirit and camaraderie that's been evident previously seems to have vanished - is there some trouble behind closed doors I wonder to unsettle the players so much? They played like 11 strangers and there was little or no communication throughout the game.
Many complaints between various players at each other even before the farce between Casey and Johns that gifted the second goal - mind you Harris nearly did exactly the same thing with Johns late in the second half. I thought Casey was unusually poor in general, beaten for pace for a few times by their strikers which doesnt happen too often - he's usually our most solid and reliable player, although I do wonder if he is commanding enough to be skipper? I hope the bust-up is fixable.
As for the 3 on at half time - that was a gamble which was understandable given the mess we made in the first half, but high risk and proved so. Rudgie will be needed to pull on his boots again next week.
My assumption was that Harris didn't start because he'd been out of action for a while after suspension and Harvey had a really good game when we last played at home. He did steady the ship a bit in the second half but don't think Harvey was playing badly in the first. Griffin I would have picked over Philips to start because Banbury had some tall players, but Osman and Barnes are no swaps for Ballinger and Guthrie, both unavailable. The lack of attacking fire power from the wings meant we sat too defensive and kept getting hit on the break. Our inability to find the net is also a worry but we rarely get the ball into positions for the strikers to create anything and they are the only players that get their names on the scoresheet.
