Shocking. That was the worst performance I've seen for a long time - no shape, no purpose, soft goals, poor team selection. 3 subs at half time - desperation stakes and gives me no confidence that the management know what they're doing. Harris on the bench when he's been outstanding since he came from Bath. Phillips on the bench when we've played our best football with him and Knighton up front. Barnes? sorry, but he's a Western League player. We'll be looking down the barrel of a relegation scrap if we don't win our home games as I can't see us picking up much on our travels. Good job only two go down.
Rant over - see you next week.

Couldn't agree more, one of the worst performances for a while. There must be something about being Chippenham's manager that makes you leave some of your better players on the bench rather than picking your strongest team at all times. Phillips and Knighton looked like developing a good partnership yet suddenly Phillips is out of the picture.
Harris has been outstanding yet again is out of the picture, really can't understand that one....
If standing on the sidelines we can see the problems:
Lack of shape
A plan B (hitting it long towards Knighton was never going to work)
Lack of pace in midfield
Lack of cover for Ballinger and Gutherie (everyone knew Ballinger would be on international duty yet we appear to have no cover, why not?)
We deserved to finish wuth 10 men because how many of us thought it was stupid to make 3 subs all in one go at half time, just hope the injury isn't serious. Very, very poor.
Be interesting to see if anyone can find any positives from today, sure Mr Perrin enjoyed it.....

Abject - and what was going on with the subs after half time? I am no football manager but even I wouldn't send three on immediately for the start of the 2nd period. Harvey, Griff and Osman must wonder what is going on because they were not at fault for the goals and were doing OK. It was fair enough to mix things up but why "put all your eggs in 1 basket" just knew we would get an injury.
Not fun today and I am not blaming the players.

What the hell was all that about today. No Harris in the starting line-up, he`s been the driving force for us of late. First half and I though we shading it, Osman looked to be making inroads but as soon as we got into the final third of the pitch we just gave to ball away. Banbury`s first goal was softer than a Swansea vall by and the second something akin to a panto performance.
and then the second half, three subs with Osman, Harvey and Griff all going off was a decision that no-one could make out, who the hell masterminded that decison!!!. I was hoping that Phillips would come on with Knighton being pushed to the wing to use his pace and Barnes (who was woeful) going off. Did we actually have a attempt on goal between 45 & 90 minutes, I ask because I had my head in my hands rather than watch to obsulute drivel on the field.
SHOCKING

First 10 minutes were encouraging and then it just went downhill. The few spectators around me were rather surprised when 3 subs at half time, and general concensus was, what if someone got injured, and lo and behold that is precisely what did happen.
Must be disheartening for Griffin, Harvey and Osman to be pulled at half time, because it was not a tactical switch but desperation kicking in and inexperience.
Darren Perrin was behind the Banbury bench and talking to them and must have thought Banbury will have a harder game against Frome next week.
A shambles and obviously a very small crowd next week. Nothing to play for now apart from pride.

Agree with all that's being said. I think as a good will gesture those who were there yesterday should be given given free admission next week for having to ensure that utter rubbish. When the three who were subbed at half time walked past us during the second half looking not too happy I wonder was that because they had been subbed or that they had to ensure watching that rubbish like the rest of us.
Hope Casey and John haven't fallen out as two of our best and consistent players and although one or both at fault for the goal can't criticise either.

I agree that wasn't very good . We certainly missed Ballinger and Guthrie yesterday.

Blimey it must have bad, even Andy couldn't come up with anything positive
Only teasing Andy, nice to see you back on here.

Absolutely dismal. I think that Steve and John's bust up is probably symptomatic of deeper problems within the camp and Griffs face as he walked past during the second half said it all. I guess we new it was going to be a poor season but think we looked forward to something more than a relegation fight. Can nobody pass the ball correctly? Unfortunately, it's a bit late in the season to start practising passing. It was all reminiscent of park soccer as time after time lots of energy was spent on retrieving the ball then booting it up to one of the opposition to start the process over again. Almost everyone was to blame. None of it gives confidence of a side that knows what its doing. It speaks of panic measures on the field, no doubt influenced by panic measures off, witness the using of all three subs at half time.

That's ok Corner Flag ! I was away at Christmas and its been really quiet on here (which I think was down to us not losing since Stourbridge away) but it wasn't good yesterday and I can only hope its a one off and we get back to winning (or drawing) very soon . I will still support Chippenham win lose or draw but I like what the club is trying to achieve and iv said it before the whole club is changing and I look forward to my Saturday afternoons !
