Dartford and Blessings..

Searching  for any, even very temporary, respite from the abject misery that fills our newspapers and screens at the moment, His Lordship is really looking forward to the arrival of Dartford FC tomorrow.  They're coming here to win  and the prospect of a proper football match looks good. Watch out for George Porter!  Hopefully, they will drag the very best football out of us.. dampened as that expectation sadly is by the breaking news of young  Harrison M's  recall to the parent club. He has bought some real sunshine to the club in the way he plays the game. Thank you Harrison.

And the Blessings?  The soiling and shameful spoiling of Chelsea Football Club for nearly 20 years by illegally and unethically acquired super-wealth  is finally at an end.....His Lordship hopes anyway.  That commodified factory  and extended laundry called  the Premier League and to a lesser extent the top of the football pyramid, has taken a terrible reputational blow in the last day or two and not before time,.   The Sovereign Wealth funds, the oil magnates, the asset strippers, the laundry men and women,  bankrolling some other Premier League clubs,  have been put on notice. Thank Heavens for Chippenham Town FC ... its modesty, probity ( I hope Mr Chairman!), lack of flash, decency  and spirit. We deserve a gate far more commensurate with Chippenham's size (45,000).  Hopeully a greater valuing of our freedoms, localism  and sense of community, brought on by the terrible events unfolding before us, will draw more people to the TSS  in the coming seasons. That's the only way to really sustain a football club.  Us !!

Re: Dartford and Blessings..

I agree with just about every word in your post which is very well written. How lucky we are (at present) to have a good honest football match to look forward to tomorrow. No doubt there will be no quarter asked and none given on the pitch with all players trying their best to win the game for their respective teams. The way it should be.

I will go for a 2-2 draw, attendance 537.

Re: Dartford and Blessings..

Agree Chipp a well written piece, with just one spelling mistake. I will go for 2/1 home win with 625 in attendance.

I was commenting more on the opinions expressed rather than treating it like an English exam Reg

Admire your positivity as always regarding score/attendance !

Re: Dartford and Blessings..

Easy easy easy, great result. Who needs a big budget, we don’t. Poor crowd though.

Re: Dartford and Blessings..

Didn’t expect that after the first 15 minutes. Quality goals by Jordan and a very good second half performance. Not surprised with the attendance, nowadays always around the 450 mark.

Re: Dartford and Blessings..

Agree Swayne but we had bigger crowds in the Southern League, we are chasing play offs and every penny counts, Melksham had over 400 and they are two leagues down. Neil must be tearing his hair out with the lack of support from so many residents of our Town. Lot of indifferent scores today, I’m beginning to think there is not a lot between top and bottom. Looks like Weymouth coming back next season not a problem with that as we always beat them anyway.

Re: Dartford and Blessings..

Do we promote these games? other than the board outside the ground.
I suspect most in the town don't know what the opposition is and what our league position is.
Club Needs to improve on this front.
I read/seen plenty of promotion about the Man U game but don't the same for a league game.

Great result to mind
