Eastbourne Borough

Just checking the Forum has a pulse?

Nature abhors a vacuum... as does His Lordship!  10 days without a meaningful post except from our Russian and Eastern European cousins with their infantile cyber shadow-boxing and attempts to penetrate that  epicentre of British cultural Life... namely Chippenhm Town FC.

At last we see Home action again.. and against solid opponents, scrapping for a Play-off place themselves.  Will work to our advantage if they come here to play.  Would expect a tight, nervy game ( a bit like Concord) in another blustery wind.
The inaction and deadness of response to the Welling game suggest we are in that rather dead part of the season known in distance-running terms as "The Blahs".. We're safe ( God willing!) from relegation and   sit mid to upper table..There's inhospitable weather and a somehat depressingly feverish political/geopolitical/economic climate.  All might explain  why the Home gates have been "modest" and the Forum quieter than usual.

That said, His Lordship will be there on Saturday... hopefully driven/accompanied by the newly restored/repaired/reinvigorated Bearded Wonder  .. for an afternoon of pleasurable escapism and near lethal quanties of sodium in the half time Bovrils.
2-1 to Chippenham.  Attendance:  (pains him to say so) 436. COYB!

Post-script: Her ladyship's destruction of Russian heavy armour was complete.  Unfortunately occasioned a rather menacing visit from a CPRF goon squad... and  a prolonged and disruptive search for Novichok on all the Manor's door furniture thereafter. Just another day in His Lordship's otherwise uneventful life...

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Thank you HisLordship for breaking the silence. I was beginning to think it was in aid of an entry into the  Guinness Book of Records.

I'm looking forward to Jordan laying siege to their goal with his wind-assisted, highly accurate shooting. I'll go for 2-0 to Chippenham.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Assuming the games is on, I think we can expect goals. Eastbourne usually turn up and try to play football, which should suit us. I will go for 2-1 or 3-2. Pessimistic about the attendance however, so will go for 402.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Will do well to break 400.  Not expecting a spectacle in the high winds but will go for a 3-1.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

FT 1-1 Scrappy game, both teams struggled with the conditions. Probably a pretty fair result arguably with us edging it a bit having a goal wrongly ruled out. Have to remember Eastbourne were above us with games in hand going into the game so not a bad result even if it was not a pretty watch.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Thought we were the better side and did well to recover from the setback of the early injury to Wil Richards - more chances and nice interplay between Young, Santos and Hanks but failed to score them. Scrappy goal but deserved to be in  front in second half. But we were not picking up their lively No17 during the game (loanee?) and punished with an injury time equalizer having sat too deep and of course who scores???

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Conditions made game difficult for both teams, should have really seen the game out , poor game management and felt like a loss. Poor attendance considering two teams in the play offs.

Re: Eastbourne Borough

Personally, think they should of made the change after goal, we were spent up front so just invited them to attack us.
Appart from that we created lots of chances just came across a good keeper.

Thought the same thing about the keeper, he didn’t spill a thing.
