FT 1-0 Chip, not a classic game but definitely deserved the win and some goal to win it too. Jordan Young looks some player.

Another three points in the right direction. Safety (effectively) secured now, time to see where these boys can push us

So nice to see a local lad who wants to wear the shirt and a bonus that he knows were the net is to.
Ola and Jordan make an exciting partnership up front, Ola just needs to get his goal now and I think more will come for him.

Decent performance against a fairly good Concord side, very open game. Great goal by Jordan Young, probably goal of the season. The referee and his assistants were very poor.

.... After her plumbing heroics of the previous week, Her Ladyship has spent the better part of this week on recreational activities... to wit, the reconstruction from old Christmas cards, of a Russian tank and AFV division, ready to be sited next to the Manor's croquet lawn ..... which will serve, for the time being at least, as the Ukraine. When fairer weather returns her intention, she tells me, is to asemble the 1/35 scale T72s and assorted armoury in battle/invasion formation and then from the shelter of the summer pavilion blow them to smithereens with Eley VIP 6 shot and home-made flower bombs. "My contribution to NATO" she informs me. "Innocent enough pleasure my dear", His Lordship responds. While construction of said battlegroup continued apace on Saturday , His Lorship chose to repair to the Hardenhuish Surfacing Park for some combat of a slighly more gentle, less percussive nature...
His Lordship's Inexpert Analysis No 12:
Overall: The better team won an often scrappy, hard fought game... in gusty, difficult conditions... with some pretty odd, inconsistent refereeing decisions, to boot.
CCRFC: Clearly came for a point ( which they nearly got) and often had 9 men behind the ball in their own half. Were big, quite physical and, if they did harbour ambitions, they did not have the quality to realise them. Had a lot of corners but only really threatened to score once.. missing a golden chance to go one up mid way though the second half. Brought on their own Akinfenwa clone as a sub.. who made an immediate impression by swatting Ola like a fly!
CTFC: scrapped well, tried to play football, played their counter-attacking game effectively at times. Had a lacklustre start, but then enjoyed a terrific spell of 15 minutes or so of sharp breaks ( Ola and JY) and pretty accurate long-range shooting, culminating in the best chance of the first half... when a KP header slapped the crosbar after a well-delivered far-post cross. Playing into the wind in the second half, we seemed to run out of steam a bit.. Ola and Alefe, who had buzzed and battled so well in the first half, were pretty spent .. leaving Messrs Greenslade, Warwick and Hanks to inject some new urgency into the ranks. Looked like we were heading towards a pretty sterile 0-0 draw, until in the 82nd minute a moment of magic from young Jordan Y., both sophisticated and cheeky at the same time, won us the game. A quite brilliant strike... especially as it was into a strong wind. Cue: young Will Henry and others running the length of the pitch for a front of Clubhouse pile-on.
Defence; very solid.. all had a good game especially young Will R. Harrison M.. has a touch of the J. Stones about him... he's always looking to make something happen.. but can, on occasion, provide the odd heart-stopping mistake. Great to watch, though. The Midfield were ever industrious and committed ( not sure Young Alex B was entirely happy in his role, though?) Which brings His Lordship to young Jordan. An outstanding all-round performance.. on the back of what His Lordship gathers is a permanent deal (?). On this sort of showing... he's a fantastic acquisition. He was everywhere.. sharp as a tack.. hunting back to win the ball... shooting at every opportunity.. finding space to run into...in fact, everything we were lacking a few months ago. MOTM for me and would have been even before the goal.
Conclusion: 3 or months ago we would have lost this game 1 or 2 -0 because we had few players mobile and clever enough to unlock this kind of rather dour opposition. In the likes of Ola, JY and Alefe we have some real quality and presence, giving the back 4 and midfield opportunities to pass through defences rather than just lump the ball upfield in hope. Good news. By my reckoning, and ready to be corrected, young Harrison was the only loanee on the pitch... which is significant, too. Well done Mike "Le Chef" Cook and team .. good value for money. Desperately disappointing crowd numbers though. Any explanations? We deserve far more than the low 400s... even less than the 2 recent Tuesday nighters which is somewhat depressing. ............Aaagh!! Bulletin is now ending as Her Ladyship enters the study with a shotgun over her shoulder and dragging an industrial-sized bag of flour. Watch out "Uncle" Vladimir.. retribution is hers!!

Feared a 0-0 draw but we were just about the better team and a cheeky wonder strike got us the 3 points we deserved. Jordan emotional in the post game interview and clearly had wanted to show he justified the signing. I thought Callum Gunner had his best game of the season too. Nice to see pride and passion from all the players - I liked that Ola was clearly very very disappointed to be subbed
