Whilst walking past the Football ground I noticed a Planning application on a lamp post. As it concerned the football club I went on the Planning site and see that the club want to redevelop the entrance to the ground, move the turnstiles and burger bar, cutting down the six trees and building a new covered stand. Have we suddenly had an injection of cash to pay for this work. I was under the impression that with the fine and lack of income due to Covid that the club was not in a place where we could afford such a development. Can't fault the ambition but wonder how it's going to be financed.

As stated on previous occasions the board of directors appear to be very well off, I agree a little naughty asking supporters to help with fines then taking on a large expenditure that in truth isn’t really required.

Cynical old Reg.
Didn’t we get a grant for club house, pitch irrigation etc.. assuming we haven’t spent it all.
If this does go ahead would be good to see the seating go there and removed from behind the goal.
Also I don’t believe the club have ever asked for money for fines in terms of crowd funding like Barf.

Not sure it is essential work but it would certainly be an improvement to HP.
It might well be that further grants were available and therefore cost neutral.
I think Bath went for crowdfunding is because they are a supporter owned community club. Furthermore I believe they were faced with additional Covid related costs due to Twerton park being a designated ground. Covid restrictions also meant their capacity has been set at just over 800 by the local council whereas we played at non-desgnated Melksham where nearly 1000 attended. Just one of the numerous strange rulings imposed on the population.
