Interesting approach from Maidstone

Maidstone United have put their contracted players on furlough. The Kent side have stated that if they are forced to finish the season they will do so using non-contract and loan players who will not be paid.

Re: Interesting approach from Maidstone

But that’s in breach of league rule 8.23 - fielding a weakened side on purpose.
End the league now or get the gobby prat Gloucester chairman to fund us all.
Some of the stuff he’s spouting on Twitter and on the radio makes me cringe. He wouldn’t be voting for the league to continue if they were bottom of the league, playing at Evesham without a pot to piss in.

Re: Interesting approach from Maidstone

Please please we are better than that Wellard, let’s worry about ourselves not anyone else the authorities are the issue. There are many clubs wanting to play on, just some are not so outspoken.

You are right, just winds me up, huge chip on his shoulder, but he’s so outspoken it is a concern he may influence others in voting for the season to continue and where would that leave us.
It would seem he has pots of money.

Re: Interesting approach from Maidstone

From the Bath City site
The excellent 200% organisation -
https://twohundredpercent.net/national-league-spiral - cover many points of issue.

Amongst them is this - ...and they seem blithely dismissive of the fact that company directors can be deemed to have broken the law if they trade while insolvent or load their companies with debt that they have no chance whatsoever of being able to repay. - a clear instruction of incitement by the National League for club directors to commit criminal offences under the Companies Acts was contained in the NL instructions to clubs to continue playing.

The board of the National League, any officer involved with advising said board, should be arrested and charged

Re: Interesting approach from Maidstone

Why do we not do the same, the current squad haven't set the league a light, nothing to lose and will help bring players through for next season.

Re: Interesting approach from Maidstone

Because it’s also a breach of the rules.

Re: Interesting approach from Maidstone

Dover Athletic have now gone a step further and furloughed all their playing and non-playing staff and have refused to play another game until they receive grant funding or crowds allowed back.
