Chippenham 1 Bath 1

Brilliant to be back watching a live game today, well done to all those who made it happen. Enjoyed the game although can't help but feel they were there for the taking today. Not sure our sending off was justified or not, would want to see it again. Good to see we were creating chances from open play but we still lack a consistent striker to finish them off. Defensively I think we are very sound but ultimately the lack of goals scored will cost us. Lets hope the next home game is able to go ahead.

Re: Chippenham 1 Bath 1

I think playing an hour with ten men we were a little lucky to get away with a point (was rarely out our own half second half) but Bath struggled to find a way past us, so we could have comfortably held on if not for Puds rushing out too quickly for their goal.

Quite disappointing we only got 518, didn't seem many families there today 🤔 (plus £3 for a programme at our level is too much)

How many away games have you been to in the past ? Nearly every ground charges £3 also when you take into account the 40 we have left we end up losing money not making it

Re: Chippenham 1 Bath 1

I have similar thoughts to Mike Tanner. Entry arrangements seemed to be well organised but it seemed once inside there was a feeling of vulnerability as a small but significant number of individuals did not think wearing a mask properly ( or at all) and limited social distancing rules did not apply to them.
Accept there may have been the odd individual who was mask exempt but surely if you were one of that category you would have stayed away in the first place. Unfortunately I do not  plan to attend again until everything is much safer.

Re: Chippenham 1 Bath 1

Yay the covid police have made it to this forum!!
I thought the club did an excellent job, I witnessed one lad being removed from the ground for not wearing a mask. Much better than I witnessed at Welling the other weekend. They didn’t even scan my ticket!!
What is it with some people on this forum, got nothing better to do than moan about covid, the price of tickets, the price of programs etc...get an life or don’t turn up if you are unhappy.
I’ll criticise the team, performance etc.. as that’s what I’m paying to watch but leave the other stuff off of here and email the club if you are that unhappy. Moaning on here is pointless as it’s an unofficial forum.

Some great stuff going on around the club, even my old sparing partner on here, Voice, doing a good post match interview with Mike.
Keep it up lads.

Re: Chippenham 1 Bath 1

Watched for the first time in a long time. My thoughts...

Bath clearly have a way home of playing and that was evident to see. They get the ball down and play short sharp passes looking to find little pockets. I thought Chippenham were much more physical and direct, which is no problem at all. Bath had all the ball but done very little with it. When we put balls into the box we caused problems , for example the first goal of the game. So be it a lot of luck but so....

Red card no arguments, looked a red.

Second half they had most the ball as expected, never put a cross into the box apart from once which incidentally ended in a bath goal.

They huffed and puffed but we had the best chances in the second half on the counter.

Can’t help but feel this is harsh. We’re still in the middle of an out of control pandemic, we have a large portion of our fan base that are elderly, many people quite rightly feel unsafe going to an event of such scale. Also, many still live in areas where they’re simply not allowed to attend the match.

518 (our avg attendance just a few seasons ago) is outstanding in my opinion and will rightly help the club out no end.

Correct. I didn't attend today. I kept myself away as I didn't want to spread anything, my partners school has had an outbreak of Covid and thought it best to just keep away for now, I did watch the stream though.

Re: Chippenham 1 Bath 1

Wasn’t so much worried about process in place! Much better than sitting in an office or going on public transport! More bothered about a group off blokes, who think it is acceptable to vape/smoke in the proximity of other people! It’s disgusting and why should I have to endure it! Please CTFC what is your line on it!
One point about the game! Puddy, generally a great keeper! He will know himself he should have done better!
First match since March, great to be back!

Because in this world we all have to put up with a bit of what we don't like in exchange for being allowed to do things other people don't like. People are outside in the open air and who are you to say whether someone can or cannot do something that is legal to do outside? I don't like the smell of onions but am I asking the club to have them banned from the food outlets? No, I'm not, and that's because I realise a bit of give and take is required.
