CTFC Ground Development Update

Following the award of £186,228 from the Football Stadium Improvement Fund, the first stage of the ambitious ground development is completed and will be ready for the match against Maidstone on Saturday 15th February. A 40-space car park has been constructed behind the Main Stand.

The car park has been constructed with a base layer only and the final top coat of tarmac will be applied once the new building is lifted into position. It is hoped to start construction in May.

A new bar, kitchen and dedicated disabled facilities will improve the match day experience for all supporters.

The old bar will be turned into a VIP Lounge/Board Room and Office with the Club Shop having a permanent home in the old VIP Lounge. A new pitch irrigation system will replace the existing dilapidated system- helping to maintain the recently re-laid playing surface.

The total price of the project is £266,040. Grants have been received from the Wiltshire Area Board and Chippenham Town Council totalling £8,000. The remaining sum is being covered by a generous loan from Thornbury Surfacing Ltd.

Of course, like all projects there is a price to pay. Two Directors have given personal guarantees to the Football Foundation to underwrite the cost of the grant. Members of the Board worked tirelessly to obtain this award to strict deadlines.

The Club is indebted to the 85 supporters and companies who contributed to the cost. Their donations enabled the Club to pay the planning and architect’s fees before any grant was received.

A letter of support, written by Michelle Donelan M.P for the Chippenham Constituency, helped considerably to a successful conclusion of the application and we thank her for her continued support and attendance at matches.

It is the Board’s ambition to use the new facilities to increase the income for the Club through greater letting opportunities; thus, putting the organisation on a firmer financial footing and ultimately to improve the quality and standard of football.

If you would like to help the Board achieve its aim, then please leave your details at the Match Day Office and a Board member will contact you. Help is urgently needed on match days and with the other numerous tasks that are necessary to keep our Club running.
