Dartford (Home)

After a much needed point against Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday in a very odd game where we could thank Will Puddy for the crucial performance that gained us a point or we could lament missed chances for why we haven't taken all three. The fact remains that even with the change in management, we are now undefeated in three games against very tough sides in Hemel, Dulwich and Havant. With those games in the rear view we now look forward to another huge test in the National League South with Dartford this time the visitor to the TS Stadium.

Dartford currently lie in the 7th playoff spot and are absolutely flying after a shaky start to the season. Dartford only picked up 9 points prior to our game at Princes Park which finished 1-1 with Kieran Parselle being dismissed incorrectly and a late goal misjudged by Will Puddy costing Chippenham 3 points that day. Since then however, Dartford have been on an incredible run of form, winning 9 games, drawing 2 and only losing 3 times against high flying Slough and Bath City also a defeat against Concord. However, a very impressive haul of 29 points from a possible 42 has left Dartford where they should have been according to pre-season predictions across the masses.

Chippenham of course have been on somewhat of a different journey since then. Playing Dartford in amongst the excitement of the 11 game unbeaten streak including our FA Cup journey which culminated in a 3-0 defeat to Northampton, things have taken an unpleasant turn in Wiltshire, slowly slipping to the bottom of the table, a change of manager and ourselves now looking for a little form in the league. We are however, now unbeaten in three games and will again try and set up to not lose against a very strong Dartford side.

With a slightly threadbare squad at the moment, Cook is going to have a very busy week trying to bring in some additional players to pack the squad with a little extra quality and volume. A lot of talk of missing out on Avery but another player was released at the same time that I did point out might be a good addition, Jennison Myrie-Williams. Very experienced winger that can unlock a defence and knows his way to goal. Let's hope we have irons in the fire as we head towards a very challenging month in February.

Hopefully Jarv will be back from his hamstring injury in time to face Dartford, very tight at the moment but we can only hope that he can get fit and get back where he belongs. Cannot think of any other injury news or suspensions that are affecting us so if we can add a few bodies, Cook should have a full compliment of players to choose from as we strive to get further up the division.

Re: Dartford (Home)

Terrible set up first half. So open.

Second half better which given they were 5-1 and down to 10 is hardly a surprise. New signings have been poor.

Close to defcon 4

Re: Dartford (Home)

A woeful performance.  Probably the worst display from us since we were promoted to the National South.  Having said that Dartford were very good. Looked at least as good as anyone Ive seen this season.  We need to get over this defeat quickly and move on. But with so many players having a bad day and the whole side looking all over the place. It won’t be easy. The balance looked so wrong compared to last week. We need to keep going. To go down would be a disaster.  Onwards and upwards. Keep the faith.  But not easy after days like today.  On to Hemel Hempstead. 😎
