Another example

Of one rule for the rich and another for the poor.

Liverpool have had their wrists slapped (a fine) for fielding an ineligible player v MK Dons in Carabao Cup. There were mitigating circumstances!!! so they have not been thrown out.

How many non league clubs have been booted out of the FA Cup for the same thing.

Re: Another example

Totally agreeing with your reasoning here Charlie Bird, but Liverpool were fined £200K !!! Considering it is a meaningless competition to them, that is a fair old wedge of dosh to stay in the competition.

Re: Another example

200K?  less than one weeks wages for someone like Dick Van Dyke  A slap on the wrist is all that is.  No shock there then.

Re: Another example

Does it really surprise anyone anymore that the FA look after their prize assets and continue to shit on the rest? 200K won't even make a drop in the pay packet of any of their top stars, it won't affect them in the slightest but still at least they get to stay in the competition and carry on regardless.

Re: Another example

The FA Cup is run by The FA and the Carabao Cup is run by the EFL. Different competitions and different organisations. Sunderland had a similar punishment for a similar incident in the competition a few seasons back and they're hardly a mega rich club.
