Trouble is mate you look at the basis of your argument there. Ex league players commanding higher wages is not always the case. Most people at this level have played league ball at one time or another in their career, but the difference is with a player like Zebroski for example and a player like let's say Rhead at Billericay. Rhead was in the football league, he was playing for Lincoln and offered a new contract. Ricay took him away from that by paying more money. Zeb was playing in the EFL many years ago and since then has come down the league and his experience is vital and will make him a good earner. Players like Parselle, Gunner etc, these are players that have come out of the football league at young age and trying to carve a way back to professional game. For them the focus isn't money, it's playing regular football. They won't be on huge money, they will be on OK money despite the league experience.
And I am not saying you are wrong by the way, there will be clubs in this division with worse financial situations than ours, but we are absolutely not as free spending as people might think. Games like Cirencester, is a big pressure for our lads as the importance of that £7000 and the chance to progress is vital to our stability as well as the romance element for the fans. It is fairly common knowledge also that clubs rely on their supporters in terms of the gate income, we are a self sustained club, we live within our means in many respects, we don't have a big spending chairman or a huge company bankrolling us. We don't save money by allowing the FA to use the facilities like others. We have a huge team of committed volunteers on board to maintain the stadium and do the general work that allow us to have a team to support and we are reliant on the gate numbers directly for how much we can expend outside of the general running of the club. And if you look at numbers through the gate, we average 600 fans at home games, a breakdown of how many of those are season ticket, how many are concessions or children is unknown but lets say we have sold 100 season tickets and that is guesswork leaves around 450-500 paying customers per week. Not all of those will be adults of course with a lot of children's tickets being sold and concessions of course. Let's call it a generous average of £10 per person and that would result in us banking around £4000-£5000 per home game. Unless you know where the money on top of that is coming from for us to have a "top half" budget. I cannot see how it can be the case.
That 750 will need to be boosted by the travelling supporters and of course the 100 Years at Hardenhuish celebrations that will be taking place before the game. Personally I hope to see as many people as possible both before the game in the town and of course at the game itself to cheer the lads home!

Pure rumour but Chippenham’s budget around £3.5k Bath around £7.5k.
So we are doing ok, not playing as well as other seasons but mid table like most predicted st the start is f the season. But it’s a long old season and it could go either way. A run of wins or defeats after Xmas could either see us in the playoffs or relegation battle.
One thing I’m pretty sure of....we don’t have the finances fir the National league.
We have found our level.

Great win, I almost heard the roar at the final whistle.
Budgets eh? It is what it is, we can afford the players we've got in the division we're in. In other words, its irrelavant,- The rest is down to what the team can do, with the right managerial guidance. MC had a rep for getting more bang for his buck when we chose him. He's delivered. Could have got knocked out by Ciren? Didnt, we'd have beaten them on penalties too. Look at the teams who fell against Horsham, Paulton and (cough) Slim... Sli... No cant bring myslef to utter the word.
You can't beat a win.

People are obsessed with budgets and who's earning what, drives me mad. I agree with Ronnie - it's all about the shirt and who's prepared to put a shift in on the day.
As for FA Cup prize money, you can bet your bottom dollar any prize money we've accumulated so far has already disappeared down a black hole. You can be sure it takes a lot more than our rumoured playing budget to run the club on a weekly basis - a LOT more.
