Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

You watched the game online and based on that performance you think we are relegation fodder...

Oh mate I’ll entertain most comments in the spirit of healthy debate and some things are just to stupid to even rise too, but I’ll have a good go...

Relegation fodder... ok so in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying round 4 teams from our division lost to lower league opponents, we didn’t. We are mid table in the NLS and on a shoestring budget assembled a playing squad strong enough to rotate frequently and be over achieving in the league when you offset position against the budget league table..

I can only imagine you watched the game online as you were too drunk too attend the match? Hopefully on holiday somewhere nice? Based on these opinions I’m assuming drink must be the only logical explanation for it?

I tell you what I’ll make a casual bet with you. And feel free to come and shake my hand on this one Saturday. I will bet you my years salary that we do not go down. If we stay up all I want you to do is come back, quote this message and say “Sorry for being so silly”

I try and appreciate the views of all when it comes to football and this club I love but that kind of comment can only be from an ex player, manager or fan.. Looking to do detriment and that’s a shame.

Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

Shoestring... lol

I also heard Yan got paid off for half the season to release him from his contract.

Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

What the hell is up with people, mid table still in the cup and playing at a level we never really believed would happen.

As a man of football, I refuse to call you one of Chippenham. Do you honestly believe that we have the financially clout to be up there with the highest payers in this league? Billericay pay a centre forward last seen in Kieran Parselles pocket what he will earn this season!

Honestly I hope every single person who sees this comments on what a foolish comment your last two have been. So any onlookers god forbid can see this is the opinion of one not the masses..

Although budget knowledge, details about Yan, keen to cause unrest.. maybe we’ve seen you before??

He may be right or wrong, only time will tell. But everyone is entitled to an opinion even if you don't agree with it.

Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

Everyone is allowed an opinion of course they are, and like I said I hope many more comment on how stupid a comment "we are relegation fodder" really people can see this is the opinion of a silly person and not the opinion of the majority of Chippenham fans who are quite happy with safe mid table, still in the FA Cup, healthy playing squad, good youth coming through and generally support a football club in a positive way.

Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

Sandell
Klukowski
Zebroski
Jarvis
Compton
Parselle
Mcdonald
Puddy

Let’s stop this nonsense of shoestring budgets, agree we may not have the biggest in the league but highly doubt we are struggling at the bottom. Those named above are all ex league/conference players, they didn’t sign for peanuts I’m sure. Think of all the players that have left bath to come here, one for a transfer fee. Poorly judged contracts haven’t helped I would imagine with 3 payouts in the last year being the result. Let’s get real, we have a healthy budget, rant over. We are a middle of the road team in a good league and that’s fine by me, will keep turning up and enjoying watching the bluebirds,
Looking forward to Dulwich

Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

I mean OK, let's look at this as a matter of perspective. When I say a shoestring budget, I don't mean players are playing for nothing. We are financially a healthy football club because we stay within a playing budget, the board control finances relatively tightly and the manager works with what he is allowed to work with. We are not poor but we are DEFINITELY at the lower end of the NLS Budget table, that's not hearsay or rumour, that's just fact.

As it goes with what you have said, I have to say I kind of a agree with you. On the budget we have, we are doing well. Happy to be mid table, it's a solid position to be in for a club like Chippenham, still in the Cup, again this is vital for finances, but to assume that we are financially competitive because we are healthy is outrageous.

As for the players below, injury caused Sandell's payoff and to be fair, he had earned that from the club, his goals propelled us into this division in the first place. Yan, less said the better, Zeb is paid by the budget boost so can't imagine he is on life changing money, Jarv, Parselle, McDonald, Puddy are we really thinking because they have league football on their CV they are making big money here? And Compton isn't really relevant at all, left on a transfer to Barry, undisclosed amount,

Cannot wait for Dulwich, it's going to be one hell of a game against a big physical side, sadly they have troubled us in the past but Jarv and Zebroski will have the height in their to trouble the big centre backs and Parselle whilst he can't be everywhere has already proven against the big target man such as they have in Mills. He can stand up and put them down (please see Chippenham vs Billericay for more details #stilllookingformattrhead)

A good chance for us to keep this run going against Dulwich, be interesting to see whether players rest for this one as well with Slough in the FA Cup only 7 days away!

Re: Cirencester (Take Two)

Think we’ll have to agree to disagree, I would certainly say our budget is top half. Clubs with budgets at the lower end don’t hand out 2 year deals. Always a good debate are ‘budgets’ it’s a matter of perspectives again, I assume those players would command higher numbers due to their past but others think the opposite, yet if ex league players sign for the other teams in the league people assume that clubs budgets are astronomical. Why assume it for others but not ourselves.

Healthy crowd Saturday I think 750
