We were very poor, passing was shocking, long balls being hoofed up the park, however, we did win. We need a play maker in midfield, we miss the likes of Josh Smiles, need more quality. Sad to hear that Dean Evans has moved on, but if not getting game time, when inferior players are, there is a problem. Need to up game on Saturday, as we are pretty mediocre at the moment. Surprised at attendance declared, seemed like a good turn out.

Toyboy says that Dean Evans has moved on, can't find anything on the Clubs twitter, facebook or the main club site. Is this news correct?

That was the rumour going round the ground last night, if incorrect, the club should make a statement.

Thought griffin was superb, always gave 110% in a bluebirds shirt so no surprise. Funny how people view games differently as I thought Mcdonald looked well off the pace, definitely needs games to get back up to full speed. Cirencester played very well no denying that, but played into there hands with sloppy passes all over. Haines was mom on chippenhams side all day long, was everywhere.

I am not sure you know, I knew the travel demands were becoming quite a burden and taking their toll but I haven't heard anything stating that he was moving on, maybe it's not something that has been made official yet? One thing I will say though is like a lot a lot of things, we need a few tweaks and it will be looking good.
We lost an attacking outlet in Smile over the summer and whilst many would argue that he was our "best player" I don't share that opinion in truth. Josh was a luxury player, quite weak on the ball and we all remember his wonderful 40 yard sprays that land on a foot and give us a moment of elation, but seldom remember the 9 before that, that resulted in us giving away possession. However, I do agree a creative spark is required in the middle of the park, someone to pick the pass to the wingers, slip it through to Jarv or Zebroski. We have probably one of the better CDM's in recent times in Luke Haines, Gunner looks up for the scrap as well and young Elias Youssef has impressed so far this season. But I genuinely think we are strongest at the moment in that 4-4-2 formation with Karnell, Guthrie and Ossei taking to the wings and playing down the channels. Haines is the first name on the team sheet at the moment so it leaves one spot in the middle. Gunner seems to be holding it down well and like I said Youssef can consider himself slightly unfortunate as he is warming the bench without really putting a foot wrong but would we argue Gunner doesn't deserve his shot?
Shame about Evo if he has moved on, but in truth he is far too similar to Haines in terms of player, likes to sit in front of the back four, win the headers, do the dirty work and Haines is just simply put, a better player. If Evans comes in for Gunner, Youssef or either RM/LM what you have is just a team full of defensive options and then suddenly we aren't scoring again and wonder why. Inferior players to Evans I just don't see them to be honest. He is a top guy and real club man and if he has moved on, it'll be another Tindle type situation where it's probably the right thing, but such a shame to see it happen, but that's football. Gaffer get's paid to make the tough calls and to be honest, when asked for a response to the lack of goals, formation switch, some players have made way and the results have gone on the turn. One of your favourites may well have made way, I certainly know one of mine was and it's a shame to see them warming a bench when you care about the player and want to see them succeed but ultimately, it's team first.

You get what you get with Griff don't ya. Big battering ram of a player, won't lose much in the air and will always give you his best. Personally I am inclined to agree with you regarding Haines but for me Jarv has his fingerprints on 3 of the 4 goals, 120 minutes in the tank and absolutely ran himself into the ground. Big games call for big performances and both Luke and Nat really gave them last night.
McDonald will get there, he's a big physical boy and needs game time underneath him, he has just had a stint at LB as well lasting all of 90 minutes so there are the demands on his body that come from the position change to contend with as well and last night another big performance from him.
Ciren did OK for what they needed to do and that was stay in the game and cause us trouble where they could. I am telling you now, from an analytical standpoint, take their keeper out of the equation and I can't imagine we would be having the conversations we are. It's easy to stick it on a big performance, but that boy just had the best two games of his career against us and it will be very interesting to see if that's the norm for him because if it is.. Well who would be upset seeing him in the future lining up in a Chippenham shirt, only 19 and Gloucester love selling us a player ;)

I think Haines is an outstanding player, so much composure on the ball and never gets flustered, apart from the yellow cards. Agree Ciren keeper is one for the future. Cannot understand why Youssef is warming the bench, unless he is getting over injuries, looked like Zebroski was suffering when replaced, he is quality. Believe Guthrie is still not match fit, and was struggling last night.

The yellow cards are sadly a part of a passionate players game, you take the rough with the smooth I guess. I don't know I don't seem to share this opinion with Guthrie, time and time again down the years he has been a real match winner for us at times, a real club stalwart and has survived 4 or 5 managers, two changes of board. The boy has to have something about him and personally I think he did alright last night. The only way to get match fit is play more matches I guess however, you cannot ignore that Tariq is banging on the door at the moment and Karnell being in the form his he Guthrie and Tariq are competing for a spot on the wing for me. As for Youssef, I know nothing of injury or affliction however, he is trying to be a centre midfielder in a team where Haines and Gunner are currently playing VERY well together, I imagine the reason he is warming the bench is the same reason a few players are. We just have a good squad and for me right now. Gunner doesn't lose his place. Same up top. Our two strikers HAVE to be Zebroski and Jarvis, Pratt and Hopper are great options and very capable when players need a rest. For example Brockie may well be knackered after all the football he has played lately, maybe against Dulwich he sits down and rests, maybe he came off last night so he plays on Saturday. But either way Hopper or Pratt we know can do a job there. It's squad rotation at it's finest and I for one am glad we have it.

No doubt in my mind that Cirencester played above themselves whilst we were for long periods below par. This made it a game which could have gone either way. A great cup match (which the stay aways missed out on). Relieved to win, looking forward to Saturday.

Well well, two weeks away in the sunshine and some rain! Thomas Cook did add two days to my break but less of that. Three points against Tonbridge, played the youth team at Chelmsford and got a point away from HP, then banked the cash. Looking forward to Saturday, in shorts hopefully. Thank you Voice excellent reports and well written.
