Well, another very interesting development coming out of Essex. It has broken on Twitter that BTFC's eccentric owner Glenn Tamplin has decided to step away from Billericay Town after 3 years in charge of the club.
I wasn't aware that you can just "step down" as an owner of a football club, although I would imagine this could spell serious trouble for the Essex club as with the wages and expenditure of the football club, without that financial boost from Mr Tamplin, they will soon find themselves on a very slippery slope.
Unless of course Glenn intends to back the club financially but take a reduced role within the day to day running of the football club, although that really doesn't seem like his kind of thing given all we have seen.
Stay tuned for further updates on how this will affect the club, best wishes are with all concerned BTFC fans.

Didn’t he step away last season?

Think he put the club up for sale last season and then seemed to retract that a little bit.
I have often spoken about Mr Tamplin and given him the benefit of the doubt in most situations as without people like Glen ploughing money into the sport, it would often leave us at the grassroots level in doldrums as we rarely receive help from the powers that be in the game however, it is hard pushed to see past something as trivial as various different sackings, appointments and making the wrong kind of headlines.
Here is hoping that Billericay and their fans don't end up on the receiving end of the fallout, after all. Football is for the fans.
