Re: Match day filming.

Ridiculous comment, Man Utd Arsenal Liverpool etc have supporters all over the world, they don't go to  every game. The people that commit to a job at the club do .

Re: Match day filming.

You have this idea in your head that the club's youtube channel is a paid position that they're contracted to do.

In reality, someone is doing this off their own back at their own expense and free time - and at no cost to you - but because they can only film 95% of the season's games it isn't good enough for you?

Football at this level is run by volunteers and sometimes real life commitments are more important than what is essentially a hobbie. If you can't accept this then perhaps you should support a professional club.

Re: Match day filming.

Come on Spaced out,the club needs all its supporters, don't push them down the professional road.

Re: Match day filming.

I for one really appreciate the videos and the twitter updates when they are available, especially for games I miss. If it will not be available, this is always warned in advance and its easy enough to find updates on twitter from other sources. The fancam idea that has been promoted but not yet taken up by many supporters is a great idea too. Again when footage is available I appreciate it.

The sign at the gate "Before You Complain Have You Volunteered" seems appropriate to mention here (and travelling away fans to our ground have commented on this, saying they wish their club adopted that view)

Re: Match day filming.

Right. Here's a small rant incoming..

First off, Reginald. If you think for one second I do all of this for money then you've got to think again. I've done YouTube for the last six years and I constantly get people with the negativity. I've put my back into this channel for this fantastic club. I've taken the time out of my Saturday and Tuesdays to do this, so please just don't go on the forum under a nickname and make comments saying it's a half job. Which it isn't because I have a another job in retail which I do nearly daily including Sundays.

So I don't get why you think it's slacking. I sometimes have to work Saturdays which means I can't do games like Biggleswade last Saturdays. I don't think you know this. But I've done all this by myself. No help from others for the last few years. So in future. Think before you comment like that what you've done?

This is nothing personal, but something I thought I get off my chest..

P.S. Like newfan put. 'Before you complain, have you volunteered' I think you should try that sometime instead of posting negativity on the forum. What if there was no channel? What would you do then? Answer that?

Plus. I don't get paid a single penny for this. It's commitment. Like what half of the people at the club do.

Re: Match day filming.

Reginald74 and others - I've bided my time in the hope that Matt would comment on the outrageous comments posted on here, and I fully applaud his response which hits the spot. It is now my turn to give you a flavor of what two other willing, non-paid volunteers do for this fantastic club of ours.

My wife and I look after the VIP & Sponsors on CTFC home matches, providing a 2 course home cooked meal for the match sponsors. Our time starts on a Thursday evening when we buy the food for the meal. On Friday my wife, who incidently is a Driving Instructor, spends all day preparing the food at home, which means she does not book lessons with students, and consequently does not earn on that day. Herr Saturday starts at 7am when the veg is prepared, the room is set up, the meal is cooked ready to serve for 1.30pm. The only cost to the club is the food. Our time/service comes FOC.

I also look after the stadium on match days, arriving with my wife at 7am, to ensure the stands/terracing/car-park is litter/leaves free. I have done this duty for 40 years at no charge to the club - fancy joining me at 7am on Easter Saturday before the St.Neots game Reginald74 ? Thought Not.

We have a massive summer program of work due at the ground, so I will put you top of the list Reginald74 as your so keen to do your bit - I can but dream

Re: Match day filming.

Put in your place on two counts Reginald74. Well done to all those who give up their time for the club, without them there would be no club.
