Nice bloke? Last time we played them (away) he was a complete arse.

Bunyard denied he ever wanted his teams to lose. “I’ve accepted that I have on occasions bet on us to lose and that it was done via insider knowledge, but that’s not to say I wanted us to lose. Really? You just could not make it up; he deserves everything that's coming.

I know where he's coming from.
Occasionally I've factored in that we would get beat, based on the micro knowledge of a small club and its rescource issues or limitations. Equally I've also done the same knowing other clubs are having problems in key areas. I've never once wanted us to lose - I've simply hedged my bets. I've also been proven wrong on more than one occasion.
However. I'm a fan, not a manager and I have never asked for, or been fed that information with intent to gain an advantage.
When the dust dies down, Nick must surely realise that a manager betting on his own team to lose is the open door to other more corrupt paths. He, I expect, has the integrity not to walk those paths, but the door must be closed and the FA have sent the message out loud and clear.

Some fair points, George, but the bottom line is that he was aware when he bet against his team that he was contravening FA Rules. These were introduced in August 2014 and could not be clearer. See this video:
I seem to remember that Weymouth had a similar problem a couple of years ago when their owner, George Rolls, was suspended for similar offences.
Seems Bunyard's only regret is that he was caught out.

Above all Yorkie, you're right. Against the rules so you're stuffed from the start. Complaining that the rule is wrong doesnt make it right.

George Rolls -
3,000 betting offences, didn't fully co-operate, and a charge of misconduct.
5 year ban
Bunyard -
97 betting offences, admitted, co-operated fully
4 year ban
That's the annoying thing. Bunny done wrong and got caught but the issue is I feel the ban is excessive. His character references on social media is brilliant. Doesn't change the decision though . Luckily Josh Jefferies has been doing a sterling job since April for us.
I would probably be as critical if it was your manager so we are expecting a lot of flack over it. That's football though

I wasn't aware, Fromie, that compared with Rolls, Bunyard did appear to receive an excessive sentence.
Regarding your comment about social media should we read anything into the posting of "Liam Jones" on Facebook? (Scroll down to the bottom of )
Sound a bit libellous to me.

He's been on twitter and facebook saying things to Bunny....I don't even know he is to be fair.
To be fair the FA statement didn't help him at all and from the outside looking in it does seem really bad i admit that.
Unfortunately Frome couldn't make any comment until after the FA posted there statement which changed from 2pm until 5pm and Frome had no idea what was in it. There were 45 bets,or there abouts, involving Frome and Paulton but only (well not only but you know what i mean) 8 were against, where as the statement imply's all were against.
Olic in Germany recently got a 2 match ban for betting in Germany
Demechiles form Man City a 22k fine no ban
Previously in Scotland
Ian Black 3 game ban and 7 games suspended
Steve Simonsen 1 game ban 1 suspended
A recent case (October 2016) which involved Lewis Smith from Hornchurch but then went abroad to Australia and was caught up in match fixing as well 17 month ban
Real inconsistencies but what do we expect from the FA.
However forgetting all that it was obviously a stupid thing to do which he will always regret and in the mean time football (and us at Frome) have lost a decent and passionate bloke
