Most players have competition for places, why should the goalkeeper be any different?

Because to have a player at our level who will sit on the bench and almost certainly wont come on (and even if you rotate, one of them wont be playing each matchday) is not seen as a wise use of 200 quid or however much per week. Of course it could be different if Kent is seen as maybe offering an outfield option too - it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

Re: Chitty

The outfield option is laughable.  He's played outfield for Corsham in the past, but that's THREE levels below ours.
The management team know what they're doing.

Re: Chitty

On the contrary Space Raider, Kent is an accomplished outfield player, and  played for Park on numerous occasions at the tail end of last season up-front and in mid-field. That is also where he played for Corsham Town before joining CTFC. The problem is that Kent needs to decide where his priorities lie :- as a body builder or whatever else he does, or return to the Kent that we have had for the last few seasons. They say that competition brings out the best or worst in people. Let's see which one Kent goes for. The positive from CTFC's perspective is that we now have quality competition for all positions in the squad, and that was proven against Dorchester Town on Tuesday.
