Agree with Gary from Frome. No sour grapes at all from there. It does appear the news was in the public domain earlier than anticipated but it is what it is. He's a very decent goalkeeper, lives in Chippenham and has some strong family ties with the club. It'll be interesting to see how all this develops.
As for being the best Frome goalkeeper ever - Gary Lewis might he in with a shout for that mantle but that's for the Frome boys to debate. 👍

Without being entirely disrespectful to Darren I do not see this being more than to provide adequate cover and competition for Kent. Kent for me is the more complete goalkeeper in terms of the skills it takes to be a modern day goalkeeper certainly with the style of football we play at the moment I think Kent is integral to that. I do however agree with comments that Kent needs to buck up and remain the consistent performer he was last season and now I think that Mark has made a move to give him that incentive to do so. It's a good move for Darren Chitty as looking at his club history this is arguably the better of his clubs down the years and also in a time where expectation is massive and he has a chance to be part of something that could arguably be massive for Chippenham but I see this as a move to strengthen the squad more than the starting 11, it never hurts to have strength in depth but factor in Darren's age (I think he played for Melksham when I was a very young child who still found his surname far too close to Shitty to control the laughter) and I don't think people should read to much into this. If I am right here and this is too provide cover and depth in the squad this is a great signing but as previously mentioned I would be very unhappy to see this as a replacement for a young quality keeper in Kent. Nonetheless welcome to Hardenhuish Park Darren hope you really enjoy your time here and take every chance you have to impress because the bar is set very high at the moment by the current team and fan expectation to do well this season.

And equally I would like to point out I didnt throw the 'Team Bath Student' taunting Pot Noodles AT him, just in his general direction
Is there a time limit on recieving a ban for throwing 'missiles'?

Ah it's all fun and games when they don't play for us George lol! There are some players that have signed for us after years of abuse/banter and it always ends up good natured. Nathan Rudge is a huge example, went on to be a real club legend after years of Curly Sue insults at Mangotsfield lol

And before anyone joins up the dots - I had nothing to do with the smoke bombs. 2 Quid on pot noodles was the extent of my stint as an Ultra.

Kent on the bench tonight and Chitty in goal.
So...

Wasn't there so cannot possibly comment but if this is the route in which Mark has decided to go down here's hoping that it works out. Cannot imagine Kent is too happy to be sat on the bench, fingers crossed he reacts in the right way

Have to say I am amazed that our keeper who has let in less goals than this time last year and who is having goal keeping training at his own expense because the club can not offer a thing is fighting for his place against a guy over ten years older than him. All credit to him that he is, apparently going to play on Saturday and not let the team down, despite the way the manager has chosen to treat him. All respect that he at least is showing some class and real loyalty to the club.

Bankers. I dont think I've ever cringed so much at a comment. In my opinion if Kent wouldnt have mad so many poor kicks, not diving, not claiming and wasnt about 2 stone over weight I could defend your opinion. But a very good keeper last season has been poor this season. He now has competition just like everyone else. I should hope he respects that and battles for it. Yeah maybe less goals but I would say we should have conceded about 5 less. May the best goalkeeper win.

We've conceded too many goals for a team in the top 5 places already. FACT. - Now heres the news. The manager manages the team. End.
Most players have competition for places, why should the goalkeeper be any different? Its healthy.
Admittedly I look forward to Bevs tweets away. I hope she keeps the faith.
