Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

Tomorrow we welcome Lemington to Hardenhuish Park.  For the this top against second clash.  I have always admired the way Lemington are run as a football club, and the way the club has been built into what it is today in a relatively short space of time. They are well supported and travel away with a large following so the club house should be busy before the game and the atmosphere should be good at the game.   They always seem to have a powerful athletic side, and try to play football. If the game is half as good as last seasons 4-3 win for Chippenham we are in for a treat. As Mark say nothing is won in August, but it's a game we don't want to loose.  This should be a far different game from the previous two home games as Lemington will look to play and get at us,which will allow us the space to play into. Good luck to Mark, Tom and the lads. Let's get the result we need  😎

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

I must say. I am excited with this one. I fully expect both teams to be in the mix come end of the season. Personally im hoping for a crowd of 500+. Tuesday night the atmosphere was good and hopefully more of it on saturday. A win will really show everyone just how good our lads are. Theyre athletic, quick , strong ,  nasty when needed and we play good football but can win ugly. Its going to be nice for a team to come to us and maybe have a bit of a go instead of hoping for a draw.

Weather might have a say in how the game is played as heavy rain and high winds are the forecast for Saturday afternoon." We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want".

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

Disappointing crowd for what should have been a good game, but pretty dire to watch. Terrific debut goal from Pratt but probably the only on target shot from either team. Leamington keeper stupidly got himself sent off really giving the ref no option. The rest of the game was painful. We seemed destined to let them get an equaliser and didn't even give their sub goalie a shot to save. Desperately needed a second goal to kill the game off but for a header off the line by Matt Jones in injury time they nearly went home the happier.

Still - 3pts unbeaten and top of the league after 5 I think we would all have been happy with that at the start

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

Well it wasn't pretty but if thats our competition for this league im happy. We controlled the first half even though we started slow. Pratt took his goal well.
2nd half we kept the ball for long spells but probably should have tested the keeper more.
They didn't look like scoring except from the very end with the header off the line. Anyone can drift a ball into the box and hope. Thats all they did.
5 games 13 points only team undefeated and we're top. Played Leamington and Weymouth also who both expected to up there.
Great start. Another 6 points from the next 2 against St Neots and Cirencester will be brilliant. Keep it going lads.

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

Lot of negativity from home fans on leaving ground, just because they have keeper sent off, I get the feeling most think we should hit 5 or 6, agreed we didnt attack that much second half but some credit to Leamington who got all behind the ball.3 pts undefeated and top. Come on people.

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

Once we got going I thought we were excellent in the first half.  Could have killed them off with more clinical finishing but it's not easy playing against 10 when they set up to defend and then try to get something from a set piece.  A clear week now to hopefully get Sands fit.  He seems to be struggling.

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

I dont agree with that at all. Sands looked fine. Dodnt score maybe but he has just played 5 games in row. A clear week with help everyone. We havent really changed the starting 11 have we so all legs are going to be a little tired.

Re: Chippenham Town v Leamington FC.

First half we played some good football going up the slope, second half against 10 men with a stand in keeper, he was never tested once, not from a set play, open play or even a corner, he was never tested, shameful. We held on in the end with a goal line clearance. Strange putting on Preece for Connor in later stages. In first half we showed we can out play any team, but second half we just wanted to play ball around in our own half, without penetrating their defence. Still another 3 points.
