One of the biggest gates of the season, and the players never turned up! In the first half defenders were breaking but there was no one to pass to, no one out wide, midfield quartet were abysmal. How Guthrie gets a game in the middle of midfield, baffles me. Late in second half brings on Oli to complement Griff and Sands, why, that is when the game was lost. Notice Whitehead was not even on bench, nor Campbell. Why sign Whitehead if not going to play him, must be as good as the trio up front. Unless we win all the remaining games, just next season to look forward to. However this season, apart from last 6 games has been enjoyable. The trouble is after last 6 games, the next game, team will not be changed much. Rant over.

in the box, I think your rant is totally justified because at the moment we do not appear to have a Plan A, let alone a Plan B !! We totally fell into the trap that Cirencester set yesterday. All they did was swamp the midfield and we had nobody clever enough to unlock them. Why the manager decided to play the last 15/20 minutes with 3 big blokes up-front is beyond me, because the game was crying out for the likes of Alec Fiddes from the start of the second-half. When he did come on there was not sufficient time for him to make an impression. In my opinion we are now going to be very reliant on other teams slipping up if we have any chance of making the play-off's.

Love it!
The people who never kicked a ball in their life can always pick a better team than the manager and it's always the one sat on the bench.

It's not the players the manager picks, it's their attitude when out on the pitch. Collier was telling the team that this was a must win game as they warmed up prior to kick off. Once they kicked off this was forgotten. They have lost confidence in their own ability, they don't become a bad team over night. Look back to January and the way we were playing ( with the same players) it looked like we would win the league. The nerves and the pressure seems to have got to them.
On the subject of budgets why sign a player with the goal scoring record of Whitehead and not use him, new boy everything to prove, could be what we need. One shining light on a dark day was Griffin A. never gave up and his work rate was outstanding. Was worried when we resigned him but lets have a team of Griffs out there and fight for our playoff place. "We're Chippenham old boys and we sing when we want".

Whitehead should be played more seems a strange decision bringing him in,sandell class act on his day but injuries stop him a lot,but signing of Leigh Henry is odd did we sign a injured player who's clearly not fit in shape wise either.

Talking of unfit players, did anyone else notice that Sandell was limping at the end of the Ciren game?

So where was Whitehead on Monday? He was on the subs bench on Saturday but didn't come on so I presume we can rule out the reason he wasn't at least on the bench as an injury. So would suggest not available, not required as a sub( strange if true as bench consisted mainly of midfield players) or as some suggested got fed up of not getting a game and left.Lets hope he was just not available but anyone know?
