But that’s not what you want to happen, is it?...surely not?

Of course not but if it happens then it happens - bordering on the edge for years and could have competed at this level with half the budget they spend.

Their supporters will rally, regroup and look forward to the A4 derby against Corsham instead.

Season over. Cook kept us up by mid March. Impressive.

Would stick one on my credit card if there’s an option to do so?

Lower league football is going to take a hammering! 😢

I read today that one of the measures to stop the spread within sporting events is to ban over 70s from Football matches.

If that happens this clubs in big trouble !!

Firstly, vital wins in the last two games. A bit of luck with playing Concord on Tuesday and them having their eyes on the Trophy but ruthless none the less. Today was a good turn around and these wins have seen us rise well. A job being done well by Mike and team.

However.

If I have to pay money to watch the likes of Zebroski try to play Football again I think I’ll go crazy. Taken off for a defensive midfielder who actually did better than him.  Pitiful.  Do we pay him to play or dies he do it just to get out of the Mrs feet on a Saturday?  Has his Mrs got better feet than him?  If so, does anyone know what she’s doing on Saturday afternoon?

We lack so much quality it’s scary. Cook said 6 weeks until he gets his style in place - kudos on the wins Mike but if this is what we have to look forward too then it’s a Swindon Town for me!!  Before one of the board /committee start on me with their logins - I know it’s a results business and I know they are not his players but I see no difference from before Collier other than a consistent team and formation - that helps players no end.

So 4K a week is wages and the other 3.5k per week are running costs?

General Discussion » Commercial Team » 23/2/2020 11:56 PM

Nothing negative intended. Genuine question.

Do people on here think £8.5k a week is genuinely enough to get promoted?

Off the top of my head Havant, Maidstone, Dulwich and Dartford spend much more than that figure.  Bath spend about that now. No idea on others.

Ultimately it can be done but you need a few bargains, great management and luck.

Every club in the division above is full time.

No Chambers, TOE or Whelan means little creativity.

Gunner, Rigg, Russe are runners, nothing more.  People crying out for Jarvis is pointless without any service.

Twine and Bray are not the answer and will be dropping down the leagues in the next couple of years.  Poor players and lazy recruitment IMO.

We are in trouble and I don’t think we have the contacts with our new management to get a top signing.  That Braintree game at the end of the season is looking tastey

Following the signing of the latest sponsorship deal the Commercial Team has raised
a staggering sum.
Following the signing of the latest sponsorship deal the Commercial Team has raised
the staggering sum of £200,045.55.
This figure is made up of various sponsorship deals, VIP Lounge packages, Dream Draw, Christmas Draw, Advertising Boards, Club Shop, BBB,Sponsor a Player, Raffles, Bingo, Quiz Nights, 50/50 and Golden Goal.
John Applegate, (Financial Director) stated that Phill Laycock (Financial Manager) and himself had hoped to raise £75,000 during the course of the season through the commercial Team and thought that this figure would be extremely difficult to achieve. However, members of the Team responded tremendously and achieved the above figure well before Christmas.
John and Phill cannot speak highly enough of the spirit and dedication of the Team, but the work is far from completed.
It costs over £7,500 per week to run the Club and more support is needed from local businesses in the town and the surrounding area.
We have an exciting opportunity at the new Business Park situated by the M4 junction and our Team will be contacting businesses as a matter of urgency.
To stand a reasonable chance of seeking promotion, the Club will need a budget of at least £8,500 per week.
Think how everyone felt when we waved goodbye to the Southern Premier League.
It was a brilliant sensation with no negative feelings in sight.
We will have the new facilities shortly.
These will help to improve the match day experience for supporters, upgrade our standing in the community and attract additional revenue to the Club.
However, the work load will need to increase to make the most of these opportunities.
If you want to be part of a challenging journey, have some interesting ideas and are prepared to work, then come along to the next Commercial Team meeting on Wednesday 4th March at 7.00 pm in the Blue’s Bar.
It is not a closed shop.
Everyone is welcome.
John and
