I imagine they'll be a pitch inspection but I gather neither club are going to communicate that to the fans.

Fans shafted as per.

We can only communicate a pitch inspection and its results as quickly as they are relayed to us from Taunton. Remember please that our Media Team are volunteers with full time jobs and they work tirelessly to bring you news, updates and content as quick as they can around their everyday lives. The game has now been confirmed as off and a statement will be live on the club website imminently.

Frank, that’s noted Sir and to offer a response. When the PA system was installed the Chairman and I conducted noise tests around the ground and neighbouring areas and placed markers on the PA system to NOT EXCEED. Sadly without a large cost to ourselves restructuring the internal sound is nigh on impossible so the PA is much more audible in areas like the Main Stand and VP Lounge. We are constantly trying to address the PA to perfect it however, your complaint of noise is in a VERY small minority of spectators that don’t enjoy being able to clearly hear music and announcements.

Rambler, yes I remember your attendance and whilst the meeting was at the time to address matters of Commercial activity and Marketing Strat, I wholeheartedly believe that our biggest Commericial gain is supporters in the stadium on match days and this is a view the club shares. As for setting up a ‘Meet the Manager’ style sit down with Gary, he would genuinely tell you that any supporter can have one, every game, over a pint, a pint he has even offered to buy if a supporter would like to discuss with him playing style, personality or any issues pertaining to his position within CTFC. I’m not as Wellard would have you believe of the impression Gary Horgan is a flawless and faultless manager, he is like a lot of us, a work in progress and a man who works tirelessly for this football club and its patrons. For this he has my unyielding respect and often that can be confused as misplaced admiration as it has in this case. But one thing I do know about Gary from my years of knowing him and working alongside him at CTFC, you won’t find a more personable and approachable man in football. I urge supporters to take advantage of this opportunity if nothing else, you’ll come out with an understanding of why things are done a certain way by the current management team.

Rambler, something I myself have likely been guilty of in the past so I don’t profess to waltz in with a new title and a condescending mindset however I felt it important to once again stress that it’s not my way to hide under a new alias when my core job is to ensure supporters enjoy our product and can converse with the club freely without judgement.

I personally believe that a time is coming soon to address certain issues, a fans forum of sorts in person where ideas and concerns can be discussed freely with those who run your club inclusive of the manager who runs the department we care about most. Gary has long impressed on me that he wouldn’t mind doing something like this as he considers himself very accessible as a manager and approachable. The only issue I foresee with this is the challenge being people will have to step out from under the cloud of the forum alias and forever remove the anonymity in order for it to work so I fear that protecting that will leave questions unanswered and change very slight if at all.

I’ve always said it takes an army, I am one man who does his best, as are many others. I’ve read over recent weeks that we don’t care, that we are close knit and clique’s prevent volunteers, that we don’t listen, that issues are ignored etc and I can assure you that’s not the case. Not so long ago I offered a sit down, an open forum of sorts to discuss ongoing club matters. Perhaps something like this again isn’t far off should there be an appetite for it?

I cannot stress enough (AGAIN)

I am not Funny Old Game, this has been confirmed as such by Admin (Blackpool Bluebird) and whilst I am all for spirited debate and everyone’s opinion being valid. Once again, this is personal and my name has been explicitly used in something that doesn’t concern me.

As mentioned before I have my opinions and you don’t have to look far to find them at every home game and most away fixtures, I’m always happy to chat to any of our supporters and discuss whatever they are concerned with.

In recent times I’ve used this forum as a way to gauge albeit anonymous the source, concerns from our fan base pertinent to my role as Commerical Manager and in large, regards the faltering crowds at the TS Stadium.

I beg of you, please email me on commercial@chippenhamtown.com should you wish to discuss anything you feel can help our situation or if you simply want your opinion listened too and deliberated with a club official. Wellard, I now speak directly to you as you seem certain I am Funny Old Game using not one but two usernames. I assure you this is not the case, however you wish me to prove this to you within reason I am happy to do however, for someone so certain they know Simon well enough to make the accusation, I am inviting you for a pint on Saturday (on me of course) in the Bluebirds Bar so as you can introduce yourself to me and I can offer you assurances that I not only am not FOG but I have ZERO personal agenda against any forum user, supporter or their right to an opinion whether it differs from mine or not. And just in closing, your opinion DEFINITELY differs from mine and find myself agreeing more with the likes of Funny Old Game however, that doesn’t mean I don’t think you have a right to one.

I did wrestle with whether to respond to this at all however by my silence it looks suspicious and whilst posting on here has been discouraged due to its anonymity and controversy at times, directly accusing ‘Simon’ of g

Figured it’s worth jumping on to clarify. As many of you know, in recent years I have taken up a new role with the club and in doing so, it’s best to remain Switzerland in the kind of divisive debate that occurs on this forum on a regular basis. I still have those opinions of course and despite my reluctance to post them on an unofficial forum protected by anonymity, you are always welcome to come and find out what I think. For those (Like Wellard) that have clearly missed their old sparring partner, I shall tell you this. I am firmly behind Gary, Matt, Joe and the style of play and brand of football they are bringing to CTFC. For the first time in my 26 years of supporting them home and away as best I can, we are known as a “Footballing” team and whilst mistakes can occur, I don’t think they’ve directly led to us being punished more than 2/3 times this season, as for this ‘nearly’ business. Watch the first half of the Yeovil game as we played magnificently through the highest and most intense press I have seen in the league this season. As we perfect this ability to play out, link the game across every inch of the field, we will be a dangerous outfit, let’s not forget, Horgan had to rebuild this side in his image after 6-7 first team players departed at the end of last season.

In closing. We are playing well, we are doing well, they deserve our support, I’m not allowed to fight with fans on the forum anymore, I’m still here, Funny Old Game isn’t me, I’d like to buy him a beer and I’ve missed ranting in response to Wellard just a little bit!

Guys I can only thank you from the bottom of my heart for the well wishes and thoughts that have helped all of us through a very tricky 24 hours and will be stock piled through what I’m hoping will be a speedy and full recovery. Mums doing OK the procedure to remove the clot without surgery was a success and she’s now eating, drinking, talking and annoying the hell out of me as always at her bed side! It’s a long road to recovery but I couldn’t ask for her to have a better support network and as always, the club acquitted itself yesterday in a manner that I am proud of with fast response, seeing out the day, winning an important game and most importantly rallying together and around one of our own in time of need. Ironically it was Family Fun Day yesterday as despite its negatives, the inspirational way this collective family pulled together is once again something I am left in awe of. So from me and my immediate family, I would like to thank my football family for once again being the strength I needed to draw from, she drew from and a huge part of why we are so positive at this moment in time! #BLUEARMY #NEWMEANINGTOFAMILYCLUB

Hello Bluebirds,

So, on Saturday we are taking part in Pride 2023, a day that we are hoping will be a fantastic event within our local Community. It might seem a little out of place to some but football is, was and always will be an inclusive sport, with the eradication of discrimination a target for any club. Whilst we are a long way away from this being the case, events such as this are a fantastic way to integrate our club with its community and fingers crossed, bring the community into the club.

We will be on Island Park by the Olympiad from 11:30 AM and we would love to see as many of our supporters there as possible to be involved. As Mr Blackmore always says, our fans are our biggest asset and your support of us is just as valuable at events such as this as we strive to bring more people to our fantastic club on a regular basis. We have our wonderful Kirsty Nokes coming down with a plethora of merchandise which will be available both for purchase and to order should we not have your desired product. We have Tom Tiner and Chippenham Town Youth coming down as well providing us with a gazebo for much needed shelter and if any children have an interest in playing among our faithful, we could not recommend higher coming and speaking with Tom and aligning your child with CTFCYouth. We also have a 'Beat the Goalie' taking place throughout the day with SPECIAL GUEST KEEPERS such as our very own Will Henry, academy darling, Caine Bradbury and new signing Luke Haines all coming down alongside other faces from CTFC to meet and greet supporters both existing and hopefully new!

With fantastic prizes on offer for putting the ball past our stoppers come on down, put your hand in your pocket for a good cause and have some fun as Chippenham Town FC kick off their Community Initiative by bringing the PASSION to PRIDE and truly living up to our motto!

See you all on Saturday,

Simon Lawrence
Commercial Manager

So, that’s it for another season with the Mighty Bluebirds.

Ending with a brilliant 1-0 win on the road against Dulwich it was a shame that win had to come at the expense of their relegation however, we can only focus on us and what a tremendous year it’s been.

A record points tally in the National League South, a record breaking run in the FA Trophy and who could forget, dumping out league opposition in Lincoln to make the 2nd Round of the FA Cup for the first time in this clubs history, also beating a team from the EFL for the first time in history. 15 games unbeaten is the best run of form since Chippenham won the Southern Premier League in 2016/17 and doing all of this whilst consistently staying within an allocated budget and with another record breaking year for 1st Team debuts for players within our Academy.

So many people to thank for the great season we’ve had starting of course with the players, their families and our terrific management team that have withstood a large number of comments and opinions when things weren’t quite clicking and going the best, their resilience to stand defiant and stay the course with their brand of football is now being truly vindicated with the terrific results that have seen us rise from a tricky position to comfortably mid table with the form guide over 25 games leaving us 4th and only being beaten 3 TIMES in 2023!

To our Board of Directors. Another amazing year of support from them has given us a brilliant club to support and many fantastic memories home and away. The success on the pitch truly starts at the top with clever management of the club and under the stewardship of Neil Blackmore, this club is as lucky as any in Non-League Football to have such a dedicated, driven and passionate Chairman.

But finally, a huge thank you to our Fans. You guys have been absolutely class at times this year providing a vocal support, an average of 600 at the TS Stadium and some huge occasions on the road couldn’t ha

Whilst I totally agree that “Open Debate” and “Opinions” should definitely be allowed I sort of agree with the statement that discussing the employment/retention of certain squad members is close to the knuckle. My objection as per isn’t with the opinion aspect but the anonymity of the poster. It would be naive to say that management, players and their families don’t see this forum and imagine being an Alefe Santos or a Spencer Hamilton right now!

Gary has a tough job. Chippenham have some damn talented players to try and retain, we will of course lose players over the summer, every club does and will no doubt have targets that he will want to bring in.

I trust in this management team like never before. Every single hurdle they overcome. They deliver above realistic expectation and whatever team lines up in Blue and White next season, I will be confident that it’s been assembled in the form that Gary, Matt and Joe are trying to create.

Whilst results may have eluded us at times this year, I stand by my comments that I’ve never seen a more exciting brand of football in 25 years from an aesthetic perspective. And you can put the FA Cup win against Lincoln right up there with Wembley and winning the Southern League for historical moments at the club.

Next year. I really hope the town, us fans and the wider community rallies behind this project as Gary and Co are building something here and I think it’s going to be something quite special.  This is our chance to really kick our club on in what’s likely to be the strongest National South in many years! Packed with big clubs and great away days!

Come on you Bluebirds!!

Pitch is absolutely beautiful. I’m here now and it’s beyond playable, aside from the goalmouth taking a slight battering, Tony has done a wonderful job! See you all tonight!
