This is real desperation

FROM THE FALMOUTH PACKET NEWSPAPER :

Truro City fan asked to give Tim Sandercombe's shirt back as club can't afford a new one. Truro City FC have issued an appeal for the fan who was given Tim Sandercombe's shirt at the end of the Maidenhead match to return it as they can't afford a new one.

Tim Sandercombe, who is set to leave Truro City for Conference North side Oxford City this week, gave his shirt to one of the club's supporters at the end of their match on Saturday.

However, Truro are currently in administration and struggling to find the money needed to keep going.

As a result Truro City manager Lee Hodges issued an appeal for the shirt to be returned to the club in time for Saturday's home match against Bromley.

"Unfortunately after the match at Maidenhead he (Sandercombe) gave his shirt to one of the fans," said Hodges. "Because of the club's present predicament, we actually can't afford to buy another shirt, so if humanly possible can that fan please return the shirt to the club as soon as possible, in time for our match at home to Bromley this Saturday.  He can contact club secretary Tracey on 07872 013487."

Lee Hodges added that he expects Saturday's match against Bromley to go ahead. He added that five or six of his players, including Sandercombe, would be leaving the club this week but the majority would be staying.
