Re: For the sake of the club

Regarding the big changes the club are due to announce heard that the main stand is going to be named after Thornbury Surfacing and the surfaces around the ground will be flattened.

If the club want to give us some positive news tell us Mingsy's been sacked/resigned, don't care how it's worded so long as it happens.

Feel the problems started when we played Frome at home, we'd beaten Totten, Mingsy made too many changes (again) and they struggled to beat Frome and haven't really recovered.

Be very surprised if there are any changes at the helm, for as we've already been told by our chairman Mingsy's the best man for the job and as he does it for nothing he's the option the board prefer.

Be interesting to see if the players do the usual end of season lap of honour and if so how the crowd reacts....

As for Snoddy coming back, no chance, lol  he's not missing CTFC at all!

Whispers doing the rounds that the club is in financial meltdown.

Perhaps they could level up the slope to the pitch!

Re: For the sake of the club

Certainly agree about the midfield. Thats the key to everything and for us its just been a scramble. Tactics simply fall back on aerial ping pong and all our energy is expended on winning the ball back after we,ve just given it away. Dont they practice passing to their own team instead of booting it upfield.

Excellent point well made. Sadly I think some of them know nothing different !!!
Lets hope for some quality being bought in for next season - It is out there amongst the local teams as Mani and Guffs amongst others  have proved this season

Re: For the sake of the club

There's nothing wrong with being direct provided the passes are picked and the person on the receiving end can hold onto it. Think of Tweddle plus others Constable, Highmore recently, receiving that direct ball forward. Contrast that to the current system which is more of the 'hoof and hope'. Next year is casting its shadow already.

"Perhaps they could level up the slope to the pitch!"

And negate our one tactical advantage???
