Re: Chippenham Town Football Club Press Release–28/03/12-Viking Invasion

I am talking to our Viking friends and as the press release says there are at least 30 Norwegians from and around the Stavanger region making the trip. Among them are 2 mayors (from Forsand and Strand), politicians, policeman, a private investigator and carpenter.

The Vikings will be congregating  at The Four Seasons pub in town and will move on to Hardenhuish Park on mass. They are inviting all CTFC fans to meet up in the Four Seasons, for a pint or two, before the game and we are also arranging for Chippy to take a trip to the watering hole. Please also stay after the game for the race night in aid of Lewis Powell and continue the festivities.

It will be a great day and there will be a real carnival atmosphere at Hardenhuish Park, please tell your friends and colleagues and get them out the house and up to Hardenhuish.

Should have thought of this before but maybe we should have organised a Chipnum supporters versus Stavanger game on the Sunday afternoon to acknowledge the fact that the Vikkies have made the trip.  Mind you, I suspect Eric will just park the longboat across the goal...... skoll (or rather lol)!

Re: Chippenham Town Football Club Press Release–28/03/12-Viking Invasion

Went to the game this afternoon and must say every player from both sides gave 100% in the sweltering heat. I felt exhausted standing in the shade so goodness knows how they felt. So well done.
Shame the communication hasn't improved. Didn't hear teams being read out over the PA before the game or at half time when numerous changes were made. Apologises if an announcement was made but asked a few people and all said hadn't heard anything. So had a lot of new faces out there. In the first half number 8 and 11 played well and looked reasonable players. Also the number 6 did well. Sounds great doesn't it referring to players who turn out for your team and you have to refer to them by numbers.
